LAUREN SUCHY, Head Director
Lauren Suchy is the head choir director at Clear Springs High School in League City, Texas. She recently graduated with her Master of Music in Choral Conducting from the University of Houston, where she also served as a graduate teaching assistant for vocal ensembles and conducting courses. She currently sings as a core member of the Grammy-winning Houston Chamber Choir. In Houston, she has been involved with local ensembles such as the Mercury Chamber Orchestra, as their assistant conductor, and the Houston Symphony Chorus. Originally from Arkansas, she obtained her Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Arkansas. She has been a choir director in both Arkansas and Kansas, most recently as the head choral director at Bonner Springs High School. She enjoys consistent involvement in the American Choral Directors Association; she appeared on a panel at the 2024 Southwest Regional conference, was chosen as a semifinalist in the SWACDA Undergraduate Conducting Competition in 2017, and was selected to sing in the ACDA National Collegiate Honor Choir in 2017 and the ArkCDA Collegiate Honor Choir in 2016. As a performer, Lauren has also sung with the Kansas City Symphony Chorus, the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas Singers, the University of Arkansas Schola Cantorum, and the University of Arkansas Inspirational Chorale.

At CSHS, Ms. Suchy directs the Charger Chorale, Bella Voce, and Cantori, and teaches AP Music Theory.

TRAVIS FALKNOR, Assistant Director
Travis Falknor is the assistant choir director at Clear Springs High School. As a graduate of Clear Creek High School, he is thrilled to be back in CCISD, this time as a Charger!
Travis is a graduate of the University of Houston’s Moores School of Music, where he earned his Bachelor of Music degree with a double major in Choral Music Education and Vocal Performance. During his time at UH, he was very active in the choral program, under the direction of Dr. Betsy Cook Weber, serving as a section leader and student director of the Concert Chorale as well as winning first place at the Ave Verum International Choral Competition in Austria with the ensemble. He also served as the director of UH’s Tenor-Bass A Cappella group Maestre of Moores.
Throughout his time in school, Travis worked as a stage manager and music director for several Opera and Theatre companies including Opera in the Heights, Inspiration Stage, Operativo Houston, and PMT YAS! Studio. He also taught private voice and piano lessons to students of all ages at Harmony Music Academy, Kingwood Music School, as well as independently. Outside of teaching, Travis enjoys working as a singer in the Houston area. Recently, he has performed with professional ensembles including the Houston Chamber Choir, Mercury Chamber Ensemble, the Houston Symphony Chorus, and has served as a staff singer at Moody Methodist and Grace Presbyterian.
